Criteria for Innovations Awards

Gold Medal for innovation

A product with a new concept, of which the function has been critically changed and the use of which allows a new process or substantially improves a known process will be awarded a gold medal for innovation. Crucial factors for the selection are the importance of the product for practice, conformity with animal welfare, and impacts on farm and labour management, the environment and the energy situation. Impacts on work-facilitating and work safety will also be assessed. The product must be available on the market within the year 2015.

Silver Medal for innovation

A product in which a known product is developed further in such a way that a substantial improvement of the function and the process can be expected will be awarded a silver medal for innovation. Such products do not totally satisfy the criteria for gaining a gold medal for innovation, however. The economic significance for practice, work performance, work quality and operational reliability are also critical for the selection. The product must be available on the market within the year 2015.
